Apollo Explorers Camping...
Camping is something we pride ourselves on, whether it being an overnight camp for the unit or at a competition such as the Apex Challenge we always have a laugh. At some of the larger camps we always manage to get ourselves known as "that noisy lot from Wakefield" We are in the process of doing our Yorkshire Challenges (which means we have to camp in every month of the year) and people are at several different stages, some are Bronze, some are Silver and one or two have completed their Gold! We will publish small reports after each camp just so you can get a feel for what we have been doing!
February Camp
We went to Silverwood for an overnight camp at the start of February 2008. Around 10 or 11 of us camped ovber in order to get that month marked off our Yorkshire Challenge badge! After pitching tents and eating Spag Bol which Tonys wife made (Yummy!) we went for a walk around the area, and ended up playing in a playground in the village at around 11pm! After returning to site a fire was built and everyone relaxed around it, well after around 8 people invested into the unit! As the night carried on it got colder and people started going to bed, although rumor has it that some didnt sleep at all!
